Transmission 2.31 Released for Ubuntu 4 comments

Transmission – Ubuntu’s default bittorrent client has been updated to version 2.31 and is ready for your Ubuntu Desktops via PPA. This release has come up wtih native GTK+ & QT clients, Local Peer discovery, DHT support and much more.

PPA Install

Just use the follwoing PPA to install Transmission 2.31 to your Ubuntu systems.

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:transmissionbt/ppa
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install transmission

and enjoy the new Transmission !

    Hmm did all of the above and getting an error:

    mainstream@serotonine-pc:~$ sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade
    E: Type ‘.net/transmissionbt/ppa/ubuntu’ is not known on line 2 in source list /etc/apt/sources.list.d/transmissionbt-ppa-natty.list
    E: The list of sources could not be read.

  • Looks like there is some problem with you sources list..Please Try Adding the PPA again or check for the requested PPA entry
